Welding Inverter Input Voltage Reconnect
Some INVERTEC type machines from Lincoln Electric operates in a large range of input voltage, either single or three phase, 200 to 460V.

A special two positions large switch is used to select desired input voltage range, a position for voltage 200-230V and another position for 380-460V.

In plus, by means of a lead with Faston connector, we can select some voltage ranges, marked on the Reconnect Panel: 200-208V; 220-230V; 380-415V; 440-460V.

Is very important, before installation, to be sure the voltage phase and frequency of the input power is as specified on the rating plate of the machine.

The right input supply connections are as folows:
  • First, ground terminal marked is connected to earth ground
  • Three phase input: The supply lines are connected to line switch, the ground lead is connected to ground terminal marked
  • Single Phase Input: The supply lines are connected to line switch, The two terminals of the line switch are used. The center terminal of the line switch is not used. The ground lead is connected to ground terminal marked
  • If a three phase cable is used to single phase input, is necessary to wrap nonconnected lead with tape to provide a good insulation (600V).

The following schematic shows the Lincoln Electric solution for Welding Inverter Input Voltage Reconnect - V300I. The two matched converters based on MOSFET power transistors, are connected to a single output transformer having two oposite primary windings, via a current sense device. By means of the reconnect panel's large switch, the two mentioned converters may be series or parallel connected, for high or respectively low supply voltage. The lead with Faston connector allows to connect the auxiliary transformer for the appropriate input voltage to operate the cooler and electronic circuits of the equipment.
The following schematic shows the Lincoln Electric solution for Welding Inverter Input Voltage Reconnect - V275S. The two matched converters based on IGBT power transistors, are connected to a single output transformer having two oposite primary windings, via a two separately current sense devices. By means of the reconnect panel's large switch, the two mentioned converters may be series or parallel connected, for high or respectively low supply voltage. The lead with Faston connector allows to connect the auxiliary transformer for the appropriate input voltage to operate the coolers (via control timed circuit) and other electronic circuits of the equipment.
